Woodstown High School has been awarded a matching funds grant through the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey to begin preseason baseline concussion testing. This testing, known as ImPact, will be utilized with the contact sports beginning in August 2007. Any athlete participating in a non-contact sport is welcome to participate.
Baseline testing involves a 15-20 minute computerized activity that is in a “video-game” type format. This information with be confidential and stored in a secure server. If a student sustains a concussion during athletic participation they will be retested in order to determine the extent of their symptoms. ImPact provides information regarding the severity of injury and a standard for evaluating recovery from a concussion.
When an athlete is retested a report will be generated that can be taken to the student’s family physician in order to assist them in determining if the student has completely recovered from the injury. The enrollment period for the “Behind-the-Wheel” driving will be from May 3rd - May 14th. Click here for more informaiton.

Although we will not have freshman sports teams for the 2010-2011 school year due to our budget constraints, JV and Varsity programs will be available for all students in grades 9-12.
